Coffee & a treat are served in the Parish Hall or outside each Sunday! If you would like to volunteer to bring the treats let Toni know in the office.


What you choose to bring for a treat is entirely up to you! Quantity: Three dozen treats

Coffee & napkins are provided by St. John.

Altar Flower & Radio Sign-up 2024: If you would like to sign up to sponsor the Altar flowers &/or the radio broadcast contact Toni in the office at 641-228-3397. We will continue to have flowers as they are on the online service & the radio broadcast reaches many of our at home congregation!

Scholarship Applications:

Those students attending a Lutheran college who would like to receive an EPIC grant must notify the church by May 1st.

St. John scholarship applications for non-Lutheran colleges can be emailed to you and should be returned via email or dropped off to the office by May 1st.

Grief Share will meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.in the chapel. Tuesday, April 8, is the last week. Any adult from the community who has experienced the death of a loved one is invited to join us for this healing and hopeful experience.

There's a whole lot of stuff going on!


We're up to number 3:

3. Mystery dinner is March 22 6-9pm. The fee is $25 per person. Dinner will be Olive Garden salad, garlic bread, lasagna and tiramisu dessert. Contact Kim Watson to sign up by March 7th. 641-330-5441.


4. Ladies luncheon will be May 4 from 12-2. We will have a short devotional, entertainment, activity and craft. The meal will be sandwiches and sides. Looking for table hosts, make dessert for the 8 people at your table and decorate table how you like. There will be some silent auction items available. We are asking for $10 per person.


5. Family fun day will be May 17 at noon. We will float the cedar river from Brantingham bridge to Nashua. We will end at Linda and Ron cabin. This will be a potluck event. Canoe, kayak, and tubes will be available. If you are not floating, you can meet us at the cabin around 3pm. We will have yard games, bonfire, and possibly an outdoor movie.


6. Snowflakes in the narthex. We are asking that members make a paper snowflake. We will hang them as decorations. 


7. You will be seeing Hug mugs in the pews. Pick it up and take it home, follow the directions and return the following Sunday with a mug to share. 


8. Soup Sundays will be the first and third Sundays. Soup will be made on Friday before at 3pm in the kitchen. All are welcome to help. Soups will be packaged in 8-12 oz containers. You may pick up following the service in the parish hall. This will be a free will donation. We ask that members help with the ingredients. A list of items will be on the bulletin board by the business office. Money from donations will cover the cost of supplies any extra will be donated to the kitchen fund.

Mar 2- Mac & cheese soup or tortilla soup with black beans

Mar 16- chicken noodle, wild rice

Wednesday Lenten Series

Join us Wednesdays during Lent at 5:30 PM, starting March 5 (Ash Wednesday),

for a series in the Gospel of Luke called “Everything In Between: Meeting God In

the Midst of Extremes.” Our theme invites us to explore how we can live faithfully

in a world seemingly filled with opposites. Jesus, himself, will be our guide as we walk with Him to Jerusalem through the Gospel of Luke. Here are our weekly themes:

St. John Finance Board has put into place a new spending policy.  There is a new form in the mailbox outside of the Parish Hall that will need to be filled out and pre-approved before any purchase over $100 is made or reimbursed on behalf of the church. Please see Business Manager if you have any questions about the form.
