About Dr. Asdell:
"I am humbled for the opportunity to be an Indiana University Trustee," said Dr. Asdell. "I feel it is time for an infusion of new ideas to this board which has had the same cast for quite some time."
"Jay is an innovator. He constantly challenges the status quo, looking for ways to function more effectively and efficiently," said IDA Executive Director Doug Bush. "And if you know Jay, you know that there is no one more passionate about IU. He loves the school and I have no doubt will be an outstanding trustee."

IU’s nine-member board is the legal owner and final authority on issues related to Indiana University. Six trustees are appointed by the governor, but three are elected by alumni. Dr. Asdell fell short in his 2015 election bid, but circumstances have since changed significantly. Before, voting was via paper ballot, and a very small percentage of alumni participated, giving a significant advantage to the incumbent. Alumni can now
vote online
, which should significantly increase alumni participation.
Please spread the word to all your IU friends and colleagues.
