Cross Currents
August 2018
Message from the Director
All -

Summer seems to be slipping by, but that doesn't mean the fun has to end! Here at the Conservancy, we are ramping up for one of our busiest seasons yet. On deck for August is the third annual Perk to Pub Bicycling Adventure on the Perkiomen Trail, and we still have a few opportunities to get your kids in the creek as part of our Summer Science Academy. Also, we just partnered with Kimberton Whole Foods to bring you "Dollar Dogs for a Cause." Join us on Saturday, August 25th for this great event at KWF's new location in Collegeville. Come on out and support the Conservancy one hot dog at a time!

Registration is now open for the 2018 Perkiomen Plant-A-Thon!

Our goal this year is plant 10,000 native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants throughout the Perkiomen Watershed. With such a lofty goal, we need you and your family... and your friends... and your friends' friends... and your neighbor... and... well you get the point, so sign up the entire gang today!

Finally, we are now accepting donations for the Silent Auction held annually at our "A Night for Conservation Benefit Dinner" in October. If you're an artist or have a product to share, please consider donating to this stellar event. It's certainly a win-win... we get some great items and you get some great marketing!

Don't let the last days of summer slip by... sign-up today for one of our great events or projects!

Join us for the three best things about the Perkiomen... the Perkiomen Creek, the Perkiomen Trail and the Perkiomen Porter!

Begin your 13-mile Perk to Pub Bicycle Adventure at  Green Lane Park  in upper Montgomery County. Follow the Perkiomen Trail over the beautiful Unami Creek and past the Philadelphia Folk Fest. Cross the old railroad bridge high above the Perkiomen, then switch into your lowest gear for the climb over Spring Mount. Roll on up to  Perkiomen Bicycles  in Schwenksville for a cool drink. Finally, coast past East Branch Creek and into Collegeville for a pub party at  Appalachian Brewing Company!

What could be better than bikes, buds, and brews along the Perkiomen Creek on a hot summer Saturday?!

Not a biker but still want to get involved? Lend a helping hand to make the third annual Perk to Pub a huge success! All volunteers win a free brew at ABC!!

Now Accepting Donations for our Silent Auction!
The Conservancy’s annual "A Night for Conservation Benefit" held each October is quickly approaching. The Silent Auction held during the Benefit is one of the Conservancy’s largest fundraising efforts each year. The Conservancy receives tremendous support from local community members, organizations, and businesses, which continually drive the Benefit’s Silent Auction to become better and better! Proceeds from the Silent Auction directly support the Conservancy’s award winning environmental education opportunities and our impactful, on-the-ground conservation projects.
