Join the Governor's Office of Emergency Services on February 28 in San Diego, CA for the
Creating a Trauma Informed Workforce Summit 2019! This summit will create support for workforces who are exposed to the effects of secondary trauma and provide collaborative efforts to expand trauma informed support for children and families.
Leaders of family strengthening, child advocacy, and victim service organizations involved in intervention with childhood trauma will come together to:
- Create support for workers who are exposed to the effects of secondary trauma
- Share resources for developing more internal trauma informed organizations
- Connect with current and potential partners

!" webinar hosted by the Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) and The Child Abuse Prevention Center (CAP Center) on

OCAP and The CAP Center invite all child abuse prevention partners and allies to a brief webinar to kick-off CAP Month in California! This webinar will discuss the goals of CAP month and highlight what’s new with this year’s toolkit.

The RISE VISTA Program is currently accepting partner applications. RISE VISTA is administered by Prevent Child Abuse California, housed at the Child Abuse Prevention Center.
The RISE VISTA Program places AmeriCorps VISTA members with partnering organizations throughout California. RISE VISTA members strengthen and support organizations by building infrastructure, expanding community partnerships, and securing long-term resources for their organization. Each AmeriCorps RISE VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project with a RISE VISTA partner.

Kids' Day at the Capitol

The California Department of Social Services, Office of Child Abuse Prevention, in partnership with the Child Abuse Prevention Center would like to invite you to participate in the second annual "Kids' Day at the Capitol, event on April 11, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. They are asking that family resource centers, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, child abuse prevention centers, healthcare providers, and other working to strengthen families to join the event. By hosting a booth complete with child-friendly activities and resources for families and community members.
The event's program will include guest speakers, awards, and interactive performance. It is an opportunity to raise awareness about our work in the family strengthening field during Child Abuse Prevention Month, provide outreach to families, meet other organizations from throughout the sate, and, most importantly, celebrate California's kids, who we work to keep safe and healthy every day.

Family Resource Centers: Vehicles for Change Webinar Series

This four-part webinar series provides a comprehensive, deeper dive into the themes, messages and frameworks presented in Family Resource Centers, Vehicles for Change – volume 2. The series will focus on the elements that make FRCs unique platforms for strengthening families and communities, and highlight organizations whose work exemplifies the topics. Each interactive webinar will define the topic, give examples, and provide concrete tools and resources to enhance understanding, learning, and application. The series also acts as a spark or springboard for family resource centers and other family strengthening organizations to participate in the Family Resource Center Core Training, available Summer 2019.
