Dear Friends. Dear Family.
For years we have stood together to help America's homeless.
We have come together to cook meals, climb fences,
walk railways and alleys in search of those weaker, those sicker,
those lost and forgotten souls that we, together, lift up.
Outside of my family, Gobble Gobble Give is probably the greatest
creation of my life, and the truth is I don't really devote much time to it.
Every year for a couple months I bug you all,
I ask for your ear, I ask for your help, and I ask for money, .
And then we move on. Back into our lives.
But what if everything we knew was up ended?
What if our neighborhoods became war zones, overnight?
What if the parks that our children played in
became littered with the bodies of people trying to get home?
What if tanks burned in our streets?
I have always kept Gobble Gobble Give as a two month operation.
A quick "get in and get out" army of good that could raise money,
food and awareness for people in a moments notice.
I am beginning to rethink my plan.
It is with the greatest humility that I ask you to follow me
into the war torn country of Ukraine.
I am asking you to do what we do every Thanksgiving
for a short time. But to do it now for Ukraine
I am asking you to stand with me again.
The people of Ukraine need us.
