Planning Your Grand Opening Event

When you begin planning for your Grand Opening Event, the first decision you need to make is if you will join an existing local event taking place in your community or if you will partner with other businesses to build your own event! We've seen both types of events be very successful for our franchise owners. Read below to see the benefits and considerations for each event type.

Joining a Community Event
The biggest benefit of joining an existing community event is the exposure and awareness the event will already have in your community. There will be a guaranteed attendance at the event, so all you have to do is decorate your booth area to stand out from the crowd - cute dogs really help! π
Things to consider: take advantage of any advertising or sponsorship opportunities if the pricing is worth it, and keep in mind you'll need a pet-friendly outdoor space large enough to bring in the mobile pet spa van - having a water source is a plus!

Building Your Own Event
The best part about a build-your-own event is the sky is the limit in making it exactly how you want your grand opening to be - plus, it will jumpstart making connections and partnerships with other local businesses in your area.
Things to consider: select your location based on it having a visible online presence, large pet-friendly outdoor area, and with the long-term goal of having future events there. Invite other businesses to participate who you can continue to partner with them in the future also.

Woofie's co-founders Amy Addington and Leslie Barron utilized event marketing as one of the key grassroots tactics for boosting brand awareness in their area and building the original Ashburn location in Virginia. We've collaborated with them to develop the Woofie's Events Playbook which includes proven marketing tactics to help promote the Woofie's brand in your community!
All of our event and promo items are available for you to order through our Marketing Toolbox. You can find them by searching the "Promo & Event Items" selection under Product Type, or by searching for a specific item, such as "bandanas" in the search bar.
You'll receive your login for the Marketing Toolbox between 5-7 business days after we have your Coming Soon webpage URL set for live. This time period allows our marketing analytics team to set up call tracking phone numbers, tracked URLS and QR codes to ensure we are properly tracking lead sources and measuring marketing performance correctly. Your account will be pre-loaded with your prepaid Grand Opening Marketing dollars, with the amount varying according to your territory count.

We've teamed up with The Farmer's Dog to bring our clients the gift of fresh dog food! For locations who participate, your clients can sign up to receive a free trial of The Farmer's Dog and you will receive $100 cashback for each referral to spend on your local marketing.
ο»ΏThe Farmer's Dog will send any swag or samples for any of your events with preferably a two weeks' notice. Email ambassador@thefarmersdog.com once you've picked a date and have a rough estimate of the number of attendees. Let them know if you're equipped for and want to serve samples as well so they can make arrangements to ship packs to you.
