Spurs Mental Health Awareness Day
February 1, 2020
Earlier this season, San Antonio Spur DeMar DeRozan spoke directly to a group of teens about positive mental health as part of his advocacy toward a cause that has affected him personally. With all of the work the San Antonio Spurs have
done to promote good mental health, it should come as no surprise that they are hosting a Mental Health Awareness Night at the AT&T Center on February 1st before the Spurs host the Charlotte Hornets. Learn more about Rise Recovery and dozens of other Mental Health resources at this special event.

Joining us for the event and the game? Be sure to choose Rise Recovery in the nonprofit dropdown list to ensure $5 of every purchase goes to our mission!

The San Antonio Recovery Hub Hotline

Rise Recovery is proud to announce our partnership with Alpha Home, Lifetime Recovery, Pay It Forward and the United Way in providing the Bexar County area with a hotline for those seeking help with substance-related issues. By connecting them with the appropriate agency, our efforts will ensure help is just a phone call away. Our operators will listen intently, answer questions and provide a referral to the caller based on their specific need. We are currently taking calls from 8 am to noon on Monday - Friday. The full launch of the hotline will be announced soon and will cover substantially more hours. We look forward to reaching even more of our community who are searching for much needed support and a path to recovery.

Did you know 93% of meth labs in Texas apprehended by local law enforcement are in the San Antonio area?
As reported online by Fox San Antonio correspondent, Emily Baucum on January 17, 2020, SACADA (San Antonio Council on Alcohol & Drug Awareness) is also reporting a dangerous trend of meth and the removal of local children from the home.
