A huge thank you and congratulations to Edie Garza, Rise Recovery Peer Counselor, who celebrated 25 years at Rise Recovery this month! What is New Gens, You Ask?
The Rise Recovery New Gens Group is dedicated to our youngest, most vulnerable family members. The New Gens Group offers support to siblings or children (aged 9-17) of those experiencing substance use issues. Substance misuse can pervade a family and siblings or children of those using run a high risk of using themselves. They are often overlooked and at a much higher risk of substance use issues in the future. Prevention skills building and support are necessary components to whole-family healing. Currently, New Gens meetings are held on Thursday at the Asbury location at 7:30 pm in conjunction with our Family and Older Group meetings. Individual sessions are also available. Rise Recovery is focused on the recovery of the whole family, as such, it is required that New Gens parents be members of our Family or Older Group. Please email Sarah or give her a call at 210.227.2634, with any questions regarding New Gens.
A Cancellation...
The ‘We’ in Family Wellness originally scheduled for Sunday, October 27th has unfortunately been cancelled. All purchased tickets have been refunded. We hope to re-evaluate dates in 2020, as collaboration in family wellness is near and dear to our hearts. As always, we will keep you informed of any upcoming scheduled events and look forward to hosting with our community partners once again very soon!
