A Reason to Celebrate!
Roy Reina, Younger Group Peer Counselor
Roy Reina, Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist and Rise Recovery Younger Group Peer Counselor, is celebrating 4 years of recovery from drugs and alcohol this year! Roy came to Rise as a participant and has been a part of our staff faithfully serving others in recovery for 3 years. We asked Roy what he has learned about life after being substance free:

One thing I’ve learned about life since I’ve been sober is that each day that I wake up I have the choice to be happy and live life to the fullest.
Our seven week self-care and mindfulness series will begin in August at our Youth Recovery Community Center - Asbury United Methodist Church location for Rise Recovery youth participants (ages 13 to 21) every Wednesday and for the San Antonio recovery community on Saturdays. We will provide details soon! To learn more about Melissa Aguirre visit her website at: www.melmarieyoga.com . Follow her on Facebook and Instagram @melmarieyoga . We hope you will join us!

To Drug Test or Not to Drug Test?
As a parent, we want to do everything we can to keep our children safe but is drug testing your child worth the loss of trust it can cause and are the results even reliable?
