Vacation Planning Starts Now!!!
In a very welcomed piece of news, the CDC has once again downgraded the risk level for cruise ship travel. It was lowered to “Level 2.”
Further, in additional good news, international cruise ship calls are returning to Canada after more than two years. Canada’s Transport Minister Omar Alghabra announced the ban is ending and Caribbean Princess will be the first call in Victoria, BC on April 6. The guidelines include Covid-19 testing and reporting, and all eligible passengers and crew must be fully vaccinated.
Other cruise related news originates from Carnival and Norwegian which are going mask-optional, although both the CDC and the cruise line industry still recommend wearing a mask in crowded public spaces.
While still in the cruise milieu, check out our just released August 13, 2022, British Isles cruise which will include an opportunity to view the Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle—one of the most spectacular events we have ever seen. Group space is available!
On land, Italy has dropped its pre-arrival testing requirement for vaccinated travelers, becoming the latest European country to ease restrictions. France had previously waived all pre-departure testing for fully vaccinated travelers entering the country. In addition, Iceland lifted all Covid-19 restrictions and now welcomes both vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors.
In the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and St. Maarten are among the latest islands that have eased restrictions.
Finally, Hawaii has ended compulsory mask wearing and has dropped all pre-arrival testing requirements. We will be in Hawaii when this newsletter is distributed, so we’ll provide an update on conditions in Hawaii in our next newsletter.
