Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy

Your Government Relations Committee plans to attend tomorrow's, May 15th's, NSBMT Hearing that will address Governor Lombardo's Executive Order for the Board to submit a list of current NRS/NAC 640C regulations that may be removed without increasing risk to Public Safety et al and that may remove barriers to resident-employment and improve state-economic growth in Nevada.

As per usual, we also plan to have AMTA-NV Chapter Notes for the Hearing available as soon as possible and posted to the chapter's NV Regulation webpage.

IMpact's Progress

If you've been keeping up, you know about IMpact -

this compact proposes to create reciprocity among participating states to reduce the barriers to license portability and employment.

Since the NSBMT has been moving forward & with Senate Bill 270 (SB270), proposing adoption of IMpact, the NV Legislature has been advancing the Bill through its regulatory, law-making process in 2023:

April 5: Passed the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor;
April 21: Passed the NV Senate and into the Assembly's Committee on Commerce and Labor.
May 15: being Heard in the Assembly Committee on Commerce and Labor.

The chapter has submitted its Letter of Opinion & Support (on behalf of its membership: Thank You, Chapter-Survey-Participants!) to the Assembly Committee for tomorrow's Hearing.
