National Philanthropy Day® Celebration
Assistance League of Charlotte (ALC) is honored to have been chosen to receive the 2020 Outstanding Philanthropic Organization Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals NC, Charlotte Chapter. This award recognizes a philanthropic organization or corporation whose grant programs, gifts, and charitable activities enrich a community within the Charlotte/Metrolina Region and is a role model of philanthropic activity serving many segments of the community.
Assistance League was nominated for this recognition by Stephanie Stenglein, Associate Executive Director of Arts+ who stated she was “impressed with not only the reach you all have in the community but the strategy, thoughtfulness, and professionalism that goes into each of your focus areas. Kudos to you and all your members and thank you for making Charlotte a better place!” Arts+ has been a 5 year recipient of ALC Community Scholarships funding.
The award was presented at a combination live/virtual ceremony on National Philanthropy Day, Thursday, November 12, 2020. ALC attendees Mary Lou Grgurich, President; Peggy Thomas, VP Fund Development; and Judith Sanford VP Philanthropic Programs were guests of Arts+ at the luncheon. Judith accepted the award and provided an overview of our programs.
Assistance League of Charlotte member volunteers are grateful that our programs that feed, clothe, mentor and educate children and families in need are being recognized for their vital contribution to our community.
