Attention ETSU Teachers,

The Center for Teaching Excellence is assigning you some serious homework for the break: Take good care of your teaching self!

Here is a great idea from our colleague Lori Meier:

I've found that personally when I get overwhelmed or feeling very burned out with pandemic teaching stressors to return to the books, authors, and theorists that "center me" again in my teaching identity and purpose. It's so easy to get caught up in the technical realities of teaching in times like this and ignore our own academic self-care and pedagogical philosophies and habits of mind that inform our work with students. So maybe revisit those favorite pedagogical and content related books and quotes that really make you feel more whole and like yourself.

If you need inspiration, consider the CTE book club. Join us online on January 11th when we will discuss Heath and Heath's The Power of Moments: Why Certain Experiences Have Extraordinary Impact. Register here and get a free copy of the book!

Many of these are available in the Sherrod Library Holdings.

Earlier in the semester, the CTE asked for your input about how your teaching has changed this semester. Thanks to all who responded! The form is still open if you wish to participate. You can read a summary of responses so far here.
