Get ready for your best Expo yet!
Expo is just one week away!
Whether this is your first trip or your 30th, we want you to have the best experience possible.
Here are some tricks & tips to keep in mind!
  • Download the app! With our app, you can locate classrooms, vendor booths, snacks, ask questions, and more – it makes Expo sew much more fun! Search for "Sewing & Stitchery Expo 2020" in the App Store or Google Play, or follow this CrowdCompass link!

  • Check the maps before you go. Maps are available in the app and at sewexpo.com.

  • Wear comfortable shoes! You'll get your steps in at the Washington State Fair & Event Center.

  • We’re probably going to sound like your mother, but wear layers! It’s late winter in the Pacific Northwest, and we never know what to expect. Expo spans four buildings, and we want you to stay warm and dry.

  • Remember to check your tickets! If something isn't right, please let us know at sewexpo@wsu.edu.

  • Parking in the Blue and Gold lots is FREE.

  • Don't forget to drop into the Charity Sewing Area in the Showplex! Make a tote bag or flannel crib blanket for Step By Step, or a Sew Powerful purse. You can also bring fabric from your stash to donate. Fabric should be at least one-yard sections and flannel or heavier materials, like canvas.

  • There are a limited number of wheelchairs available on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. To guarantee a wheelchair or mobility scooter rental, call Wheelchair Haven at 253-926-8971 or go to www.wheelchairhaven.com.

  • Rolling carts are not allowed on the vendor floor. We recommend using the Pierce County Sheriff's Posse Cadets Package Check in the Fair View building to hold packages until you’re ready to head out.

  • Backpacks and strollers are allowed, but please be aware of your space needs. We don’t want you to get hurt, or to run into someone else.

  • If you’re planning some serious shopping, let your bank know in advance. Our vendors come from all over the world, and your bank might be confused by purchases if they’re coming from multiple states on the same day.

  • Take pictures and share them with us! We’re on social media, and we want to see what you're discovering at Expo. You can also drop by the Social Media Lounge in Showplex Booth 705 to meet our Social Media Hostesses and fellow Expo attendees.

  • If you’re taking a class with a kit, remember your kit fee. Teachers usually prefer cash payments, and exact change is appreciated.

  • You can find a full list of teachers and vendors in the Expo newspaper, in the mobile app, and on sewexpo.com. Ask questions, buy supplies later, or find where they’re teaching next!

  • Don’t forget to enter the Door Prize Daily Drawings in the Pavilion. We’re giving away top-of-the-line machines each day of Expo.

  • Remember to be patient and have fun! There will be thousands of sewing and fiber arts enthusiasts from all over the world at Expo, and our top priority is that everyone have a good time. Please let us know if we can help!
