“A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” John Adams (1735 – 1826)
The fall migration is in full swing with ducks and geese landing anywhere they please. This includes your backyard especially if you have a pool. Ducks and geese are federally protected so disturbing them can get dicey and illegal.
Deer season is in full swing with the bow hunters coming out of the woods and the gun hunters going in. About a year ago my mouth ran a little wild when the media was going on and on about a lion hunter. I never did figure out if people were mad at the hunter or the act of hunting.
Two dogs died in Plano from Leptospirosis in mid-October. What is it? It’s a bacterial disease that affects humans and animals. It’s more prevalent in dogs than cats but it can be transferred from animal to human. Rats, mice, raccoons, skunks, deer and other urban wildlife are the common carriers of Leptospirosis.
Wells Brothers Garden Tonic (our version of compost tea) is made fresh weekly and is available Friday and Saturday. The plan is to make Garden Tonic until November 19th this year. However if it looks like it will freeze then the brewing will stop until next spring.
