Did you know that our Parents as Teachers home visiting program now accepts children, age three and under, living in Cuyahoga County? Previously, the program was limited to children age two and under, but we’ve expanded eligibility to better support families with toddlers as they grow. This means more opportunities for parents to access valuable resources, guidance, and support during those crucial early years. Please note that income eligibility also applies.

National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week is October 22-28


The Parent Support Lead Program is dedicated to spreading awareness about lead exposure, focusing on this year’s theme: Bright futures begin lead free!


Research from the Cleveland Clinic shows that Cleveland’s lead poisoning rates are nearly four times higher than the national average. However, with the right knowledge, we have the power to prevent and reduce lead exposure.


Protecting Your Child from Lead Exposure: The Role of Nutrition and Safe Practices


Lead is a toxic metal that can be found in old paint, contaminated soil, water pipes, certain toys, and even some imported goods. When children are exposed to lead, it can affect their growth, learning, and behavior. The younger the child, the more vulnerable they are, as their bodies absorb lead more easily than adults.
