Power Of Attorney - Legal Updates
Connecticut  recently updated its 1965 law governing Powers of Attorney (POA's).
The new law, called the Connecticut Uniform Power of Attorney Act, or "CT UPOAA", makes many changes that estate and elder law attorneys think are long overdue, and useful, and it imposes new obligations on banks to whom POA's are presented.
When was the last time you updated your estate plan? Maybe it is time for you to have our experts review this with you. Please contact us for a consultation.
At Tindall Law Firm, LLC, we are your local legal resource in Connecticut. With 20 years of experience, Attorney Tavis Tindall has the knowledge and skill to answer your legal questions. For a free consultation, please call  203-755-0018 or contact us online.

Workers' Comp Benefits and Third Party Claims
The Workers' Compensation Act of the Connecticut General Statutes provides medical benefits and wage replacement for injured workers. On-the-job injuries and occupational diseases are typically covered by workers' compensation, even if the worker is at fault.
Workers' compensation provides compensation for a percentage of the worker's lost wages, permanent disabilities, impairment of earning capacity and certain types of scarring and disfigurement. It also provides medical benefits for treating the injury/illness and to cover out-of-pocket medical expenses.
If a negligent third party was responsible for your injury, you may be able to collect additional damages in a separate personal injury suit. Third-party suits can provide compensation that is not available under workers' comp such as pain and suffering or loss of life's enjoyment.
Even if you do not have health insurance, you can get treatment with workers' compensation benefits and/or with letters of protection in third-party suits. Do not let lack of insurance prevent you from filing a claim.

At Tindall Law Firm, LLC, we represent employees with workers' compensation claims and third-party negligence claims. Attorney Tavis Tindall has 20 years of legal experience and is committed to fighting for the benefits and compensation injured workers deserve. Whether your claim was denied or you are in the application process, we can assist you. For a free consultation with a Waterbury workers' compensation attorney, please call 203.755.0018 or
