Greetings!
Today, I am sharing information on
using Facebook for Business. There's a lot of
hype out there and what I am seeing is companies just jumping on
the bandwagon, without remembering Marketing 101 ...
'Strategy Before Tactics'.
When developing your
Facebook for Business Marketing Strategy, you
really need to take a good look at the business reasons for being
there. If you already have a
marketing plan, or business plan, with clearly defined goals and
objectives, review these plans and ask yourself "How can I
use Facebook to help me accomplish these goals".
Regardless of anything else,
one goal should always be to generate highly qualified
prospects that you can drive back to your
website, with the ultimate goal of moving them through your
marketing funnel to convert 'leads to new business'.
Yes, you do want to establish
yourself as a trusted, reliable, 'go to source' within your
industry, you also want to create community, build meaningful
relationships, service customers, provide updates and information,
set expectations of what it's like to do business with you, and
allow your audience to experience the personality of your brand
online.
The information I am sharing here is
just a 'scratch' on the surface. If your business or organization
requires guidance and training in setting up a Facebook Business
Page, please call me so we can discuss your needs.
My Best,
Nancy Beth Guptill

Fan Pages Are Now Called Business
Pages or Facebook Pages
There's
confusion out there over the new terminology Facebook uses to
create pages for businesses.
At one time
they were called "Fan Pages" and to join the page, Facebook had the
'Become a Fan' button. However, starting in April 2010, Facebook
introduced the famous 'Like' button, and just around that time, the
terminology of the page was switched to 'Business
Page' or 'Facebook Page', it's no longer called a fan page. There
is no difference between the two, they are actually the same
thing.

Page,
Group, Profile...
What's
the Difference??
As the saying
goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. The best way to present
this information is through visual graphs, plus answering the most
Frequently Asked Questions.
These questions are hyper-linked to answers found in Facebooks Help
Centre:
1) What is the difference between a business account
and a personal account?
2) How are Pages Different From
Profiles?
3) What is a Facebook Page?
4) What is a Facebook Group?

HubSpot
E-Book
Using
Facebook for Business
HubSpot is one of my favorite New and Social Media resource
websites. I came across their 'Facebook For Business' E-book and
figure you may find it useful if you plan on using Facebook for
Business.
Please note, this is a free E-book and it's ok to circulate it
amongst your colleagues and friends.
