Password Policy Change
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, GTCC will implement new password requirements to log into your GTCC account. Your new password will need to be 14 characters long, and you will only need to change your password once per year. There is no action required on your part at this time. You will be prompted to change your password once your current one expires.

College Closed Sept. 5
Classes will not be held on Monday, Sept. 5 because of the Labor Day holiday. All college offices will also be closed. Classes and college operations will resume as usual on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Student Success Tip
As a GTCC student, you have access to free tutoring resources both online and in person. Our tutors can help you understand course material, help you write papers, give feedback on rough drafts, and more. Additionally, all GTCC students are given five free hours of tutoring sessions with tutor.com each semester when you sign up through Canvas.

GTCC offers work-study opportunities for all students! Work-study jobs are currently available in various departments, including Marketing, eLearning, the Library, the Veterans Resource Center, and many more. Work-study jobs can give you valuable experience in your field. They look great on your resume!

Clothing Giveaway
Titan Link is sponsoring a clothing giveaway for all students, faculty, and staff. There will be clothes for many occasions, including clothes appropriate for work. Stop by to see what might work for you! Learn more.

Men's Basketball Tryouts
The GTCC men's basketball team is holding open tryouts! To qualify, you must be a full-time GTCC student. Students from all campuses are encouraged to try out for the team. Learn more.
Tryouts are on Thursday, Sept. 8 at
3 p.m. at the Ragsdale YMCA. Bring your student ID and have a physical completed within the last 13 months to be eligible to try out.

Cultivating Creativity Workshop
GTCC's Visual Arts program will host several workshops throughout the semester. The first workshop will be eco-printing on paper and fabric with Prof. Drummond and Dr. Fesperman. Spots are limited, so sign up soon using the QR code!
The eco-printing workshop is on Friday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Jamestown campus in Gerrald Hall, room 213. Bring a bagged lunch!

Weekly Improv Workshops
Professor Julya Mirro will be hosting improv workshops this semester. If you are interested in learning about improv, honing some acting skills, or trying something new, come on out!
The workshops are on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 4-5 p.m. in the H2 building on the High Point campus.

GTCC Spanish Club
The GTCC Spanish Club will begin meeting in September. Meetings will be at noon on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in Sears Applied Technologies 252.
The meeting dates for the fall semester are Sept. 13, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 8, and Nov. 22.
