A Welcome from IMSA's President

Hello,

I’m excited to introduce myself as Dr. Evan Glazer, the President of IMSA. I work closely with Dr. Rowley and Ms. Berger to ensure that IMSA provides a nurturing and challenging environment where all students can thrive academically and personally.

I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you on your admission or placement in the waitpool for the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. Your accomplishments and dedication have not gone unnoticed.

As you embark on your Titan Odyssey, you embark on a transformative journey filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for growth. Just like the Titans of Greek mythology who ventured into the unknown, you, too, will explore new horizons, push boundaries, and discover the depths of your potential.

At IMSA, you will be surrounded by a community of scholars, innovators, and changemakers who will challenge and inspire you. Together, you will engage in rigorous academics, cutting-edge research, and hands-on experiences that will shape your future and prepare you to make a positive impact on the world.

As you consider your admission or waitpool invitation, I urge you to seize this chance to be part of something extraordinary. Your journey at IMSA promises to be an unforgettable chapter in your life story—one that will empower you to reach new heights and achieve your dreams.

I look forward to the incredible achievements that lie ahead for each of you.

Titans Together,

Dr. Glazer

Meet the Principal

Meet Dr. Angela Rowley, IMSA's Principal and Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Rowley brings extensive experience as a school administrator and K-12 educator to IMSA. She has earned an Illinois Superintendent License and an Illinois General Administrative License for teacher growth and development. Before coming to IMSA, Dr. Rowley served as Principal of Fred Rogers Magnet Academy, where she created and opened a new STEM Magnet Academy, designed the STEM-focused curriculum, wrote and received over $1 million in grant funding, and led educators on new adventures in STEM education.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Rowley worked at IMSA as a Resident Counselor, Hall Coordinator, and Admissions Counselor, giving her a profound understanding of our students' academic and residential experiences. Did you know?

Why does IMSA only have classes four days a week? One day each week is reserved for student inquiry, which is why we call them I Days!

On I Days, students can conduct their own research alongside industry professionals, explore entrepreneurship opportunities, or gain practical work experience through internships. Students present what they learned at an annual showcase called IMSAloquium.
