Meet the Health Services Team

IMSA's on-campus healthcare professionals help keep students safe and healthy. Whether assisting students in administering medication, teaching them about healthy habits, or addressing athletic injuries, their commitment to student wellness contributes significantly to the overall well-being and success of the IMSA community. Meet the team below.

Nurse Angie Shoener

Nurse Angie is the Coordinator of Student Health Services. She brings a holistic approach to nursing that addresses students' physical, educational, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. She earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing, School Nurse Certification, and Professional Educator’s License from the University of Illinois at Chicago. With 25 years of nursing experience, she has dedicated the last decade to serving as the school nurse at IMSA.

Nurse Lori

Nurse Lori Gordon

Nurse Lori's mission at IMSA is to deliver attentive healthcare, offer support, and educate students while inspiring everyone she encounters at the academy. She has extensive experience working as a registered nurse in various healthcare organizations. She holds an associate degree in nursing and a master’s degree in training and development, equipping her with a unique blend of clinical expertise and educational skills to support the IMSA community effectively.

Athletic Trainer Josiah

Josiah Douglas

Mr. Josiah Douglas is a licensed and certified athletic trainer with extensive experience. He earned his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Aurora University and is completing a Master's in Sports Nutrition from Concordia Chicago University. Josiah brings over five years of experience as a collegiate Head Athletic Trainer specializing in injury prevention and rehabilitation. He is well-known among IMSA athletes for his exceptional ankle-taping skills. Now, in his second year as a Titan, Josiah combines his expertise in athletic training and sports nutrition to help athletes optimize their performance and health.

If you have any questions about health services at IMSA, such as submitting physicals, administering student medications, or what to do when your child is sick, please email nurse@imsa.edu or call the Health Office at 630.907.5008.

Did you know...

In addition to running the Health Office at IMSA, Nurse Angie also piloted a new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for IMSA students. Last year, a group of juniors and seniors received hands-on training and certification to become CNAs, allowing them to learn about patient care and jumpstart their medical education. Nurse Angie brings her wealth of medical knowledge and love for mentoring students to this unique and fulfilling program.
