Exams will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Parents and students will be greeted at Door 13 (Near the gym and pool)
Once testing begins, late students will not be permitted to enter, so please be on time. Departures will be dependent upon the pre-selected exams. We kindly ask that parents refrain from accompanying students to the testing area, but there will be a short Q&A session for parents.
Students should bring:
- A picture ID
- #2 Pencils
- A calculator
- Snacks (Food is not allowed during testing, so any snacks should stay in students' bags until the designated lunchtime or break)
Complimentary lunch will be provided on-site for students. However, if you have special dietary needs, we encourage you to bring your own non-perishable lunch or snacks.

Parent Reception
8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Cafeteria
While your students take the placement exam, we invite parents to a special parent reception and welcome from IMSA's Principal, Dr. Angela Rowley. Parents should enter Door 13 with their students, and they will be escorted to the cafeteria for a brief presentation. There will also be an opportunity to meet some IMSA Faculty and Staff, and take a building tour with our student ambassadors. Light breakfast will be provided.

Presidential Scholar
Each year, the U.S. Department of Education selects a small group of students as Presidential Scholars based on their academic excellence, leadership qualities, community service, and overall exceptional achievement.
These scholars are invited to Washington, D.C., for a special ceremony to celebrate their achievements. Being named a Presidential Scholar is among the highest honors for graduating high school seniors in the United States. Congratulations to Zuyu Liu '24 for this impressive recognition.

IMSA students have the opportunity to explore explore areas of interest outside of the curriculum during a two week period between the first and second semesters called "Intersession." Intersession courses are taught by faculty, staff, students, alumni, and outside guests. Session topics include math, science, cultural studies, hobbies, life skills, and fine arts. Students even have the opportunity to enroll in a Travel Study program and go to places like Italy, Mexico, and London to have lived learning experiences and to explore new cultures. | | |
All admitted and waitpool students must participate in a Summer Orientation session. The purpose of Summer Orientation is to help students prepare for the necessary adjustments to life at IMSA. The cost is $65.00 per person and is collected at the time of registration. | |

DMG Mori
IMSA Alum Thomas Oberhardt '10 hosted 13 IMSA students at DMG Mori, where he works as an application engineer. DMG Mori is a global manufacturer of machine tools and an industry leader that works to engage and educate the future workforce. Students toured the company and discussed internship opportunities to gain real-world experience.

Rush Copley Hospital
Students from IMSA's Medical Society had the opportunity to visit Rush Copley Hospital last week. Students got to tour the facility, hear from medical professionals about cutting-edge research, and speak with a panel of physicians and hospital leadership to discuss career paths in healthcare.

Modern Theater Class
Last weekend, Dr. Leah Kind took students from the Modern Theater class to the McAnnich Arts Center at the College of DuPage for a performance of "Into the Earth With You" by the Buffalo Theater Ensemble. Students also had the opportunity to attend a special post-performance discussion with the director and cast, during which they asked several insightful questions.
