Connecting People to God's Grace

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Grace Families,

I hope you are doing well on this hot and humid week!

Whole School Field Trip - Information about the whole school field trip to Urban Air in Grand Rapids was sent out this past week. Because we are taking all of the students, we need a lot of drivers. Please sign up today so that we can plan accordingly! We will be leaving school at 8:30am on Friday, September 18 and will get back home shortly before the end of the school day.

Patriotic Day - Next Friday is the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. It will be patriotic day at Grace. Please wear red, white, and blue.

Cruisin’ at Grace Car Show - The 9th annual Cruisin’ at Grace Car Show is next Saturday, September 12. Our students have a chance to get involved with this great event!

NATIONAL ANTHEM - Grace students sing the national anthem at the car show. If you are able to attend, please meet in Mrs. Thorson’s room (room 6) at 8:45 so that they may practice before singing at 9:00.

“BRING YOUR KIDS’ WHEELS TO THE ULTIMATE CAR SHOW!” - Rev up the fun and roll into our car show with your kids' coolest rides! Whether it's a zippy Power Wheels, a mighty tractor, or any awesome wheeled creation, we want to see those mini machines shine! Join us for a day packed with family-friendly excitement, where your little drivers can show off their wheels, compete in fun challenges, and make unforgettable memories. Don’t miss the chance to be part of the action—bring those kids' wheels and let’s cruise together at the Cruisin at Grace Car Show!

There will be three categories to vote this year:

  1. Most Unique
  2. Best in Show
  3. Most Patriotic

Please register your child’s wheels by contacting Jackie Wagner (wagnerjaq@gmail.com or 269-277-3926). Your child can register the day of the event. There are goody bags for those that register regardless if you pre-register or not. If you have any questions at all, please contact Jackie.

Hot Lunch - Hot lunch begins this week! Please contact the office if you have any questions.

PIE Meeting - Thank you to everyone who attended our first PIE meeting this past week. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, October 1 at 8:22am. If you are able to help with Titans on the Track on Friday, October 9, please reach out to PIE (gracelutheranpie@gmail.com).

Chapel Mission Offering - Our mission offering this semester will support Anchor Church in Marquette, MI! Anchor Church started out small with just two souls in a rented facility in downtown Marquette. Just two years later, they had outgrown that space and purchased a former funeral home, which they are now renovating into their permanent church home!

Our chapel offerings and prayers will help support this exciting project as they complete the renovation, create a welcoming space to invite more guests, improve their technology, and continue to grow in their new permanent home.

Your Friday offering—whether great or small—will be a huge blessing to Anchor Church! Every gift can make a difference. And if you are unable to give, your prayers are just as valuable and deeply appreciated!

MealTrain - Grace parent Jaramee Peppers recently had surgery and will be laid up for four to six weeks. In order to help the Peppers family, a meal train has been organized. If you are able to provide a meal or a gift card, please click here. Thanks!

Preschool Expansion Video - Here is a link to the preschool expansion video that was mentioned at Backpack to Church Sunday.

Sturgis Bank School Savings Program - If you are interested in participating in the Sturgis Bank School Savings Program, here is more information, and here is the application. The first deposit day will be Tuesday, September 15.

Dear 8th Grade Families,

We are excited to announce our upcoming fundraiser to help raise money for the 8th graders’ trip to the Ark Encounter!

Our fundraiser will be a Root Beer Float Stand during the Grace Car Show on September 12th. This is a great opportunity for the students to work together, have some fun, and raise money toward their trip!

How You Can Help

We will need volunteers throughout the day to help set up, serve root beer floats, and keep the stand running. Please sign up for a volunteer time slot that works for your family. The more volunteers we have, the easier it will be for everyone!

Thank you for supporting our 8th graders and helping make their Ark Encounter trip possible! We appreciate everyone’s time, donations, and willingness to help make this fundraiser a success.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Titans on the Track

Dear Grace families,

Mark your calendars! Titans on the Track, our biggest fundraiser of the year, is coming up on Friday, October 9th.  This fundraiser is put on by PIE (Partners In Education) and 100% of the proceeds go directly to funding fun events (like the Lake Arvesta field trip, the Daddy/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son events, Grandparents Day, and our Summer Picnic, just to name a few!) The funds raised also support teachers and students directly by way of teacher stipends, wish list items and other needs that come up throughout the year.

Your Titan can take donations online, or by check or cash, from family and friends to support them in our annual event. An envelope will be coming home to help them track their progress/donations.  The actual Titans on the Track event will take place during the school day on our campus, with most of the school class walking/running at different times throughout the day and ending the day with a color run!

Last year, we had a goal of $20,000 and raised more than $41,000!   This year, our goal is to raise $20,000, again!  LET’S GO, TITANS!

This year, we’ll be using the same website platform for online submissions and to watch our school grand total.  Please follow the link below to register your Titan(s) and start logging donations.  Once your child is registered, you’ll be able to share their unique link, or share the Titans on the Track fundraising page, and donors can search your child’s name from there.

https://glp.betterworld.org/campaigns/titans-track-2026/new-participant

Students who hit their goal of $75 will take home a Titan winter hat!

Other ways to donate: send cash or check (made out to Grace Lutheran Memo: TOTT) in the envelope provided or donate via PayPal to gracechurch45@gmail.com (please make sure to note that it’s for TOTT and the name of the student it is in support of).

Last year, we had a limo lunch to celebrate the amazing amount that the students were able to raise - stay tuned for this year’s exciting culmination!

Today marks 6 weeks until TOTT; let’s do this, Titans!!

Thank you very much for your support! Please reach out to gracelutheranpie@gmail.com with questions.
