Connecting People to God's Grace

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Ohhh, we're almost there! ohh ohh...... (you know the tune :) - and now it's stuck in your head - you're welcome)

As we approach the final week of the school year, there's a buzz of excitement—and maybe just a touch of disbelief—that we're already here. As I work on the end of the year slideshow it's clear that this year has been filled with growth, learning, core memories, and countless moments to celebrate.

The finish line is in sight, and I'm thankful for our students, staff, and families who have come together to make this a year to remember. Let’s finish strong, stay focused, and enjoy one more week of the 24-25 school year!

Quick Highlights

  • Open Positions at Grace - Last Sunday the members of Grace Lutheran Church to approved the BOE's recommendations for the 25-26 school year. This involves moving Mr. Avila into the role of Principal (he has 16 years of Principal experience) and requesting two graduates from Martin Luther College. Tomorrow we will find out if we will receive those graduates and who they are. We put our trust in God throughout this process - that he has the right people in mind to continue to drive this ministry forward.

  • Graduation/Awards Night - Thursday, May 22nd is Graduation/Awards Night at Grace. We celebrate our 8th Grade Graduates in our worship service. Then after the service we celebrate our Kindergarten Graduates and hand out certificates for all of the different activities that our students participated in throughout the year. This is a great way to wrap up our school year! The service begins at 6:30 PM. There will be a brief reception with cake following the service.

  • Last Day of School - Friday, May 23rd is the last day of school for the 2024-25 school year! We will have an early dismissal that day at 11:45AM. We are planning a Titan Tribe activity (10:15ish) followed by the traditional 8th Grade Clap Out at 11:35! Parents are welcome to come and watch the Tribe activity on the Soccer Field and participate in the clap out!

  • Prism Concert at ML - ML's end-of-year concert is tomorrow night! It will take place on May 17th at 6:30 PM in the MLHS main gym. This concert will feature our high school band and choirs, the Cadet band (the grade school band ensemble), and a number of student solo and ensemble acts. Please come and enjoy some snacks, fellowship, and great music!!"

  • New Pastor Installation - If you see the lights on in the parsonage next week that's because our new pastor, Paul Jenkins, will be moving to town on May 20th! He will be installed as a pastor at Grace on May 25th at a 3:30PM service with a dinner reception to follow in the gym. You are all welcome/invited to attend this special event!

Check out the rest of the Titan Times for details on the other events and activities on the horizon!

Have a blessed weekend!

MLHS News and Notes

All students going into grades 3-8 are eligible for all camps (except girls powerlifting). Each sport is 90 minutes long. Kids can sign up for one, two, or all three camps during the day. Lunch will be served at ML for a small fee. Each sport will be a $40 charge, so if you sign up for all three in one week, it is $120. Camps are run by MLHS coaching staff with the assistance of ML student-athletes and assistant coaches.
