Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community on Pi Day, we raised over $14,000 for the IMSA Fund!
These contributions help support a wide range of student opportunities and programs, including student research, clubs and academic teams, guest speakers and special events, travel to competitions and conferences, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
We’re also pleased to announce that 1507 won the challenge for the most donations affiliated with their hall, earning a pie party for all residents! Watch for details about when the pies will be delivered.

| | IMSA Summer Curiousity Grant | | |
IMSA's vision of reinventing residence life places special emphasis on creating experiences for students outside the academic day that center on themes of connection, care, and curiosity. This year, there has been a focus on developing a curiosity framework and enhancing experiences that promote exploration. You can learn about recent efforts on our Vision 2033 website.
I am pleased to share that the IMSA Fund, a 501c3 charitable organization supporting opportunities and advancement at IMSA, is offering a summer scholarship for students to participate in enrichment that supports their curiosity. Students may request between $250–$1,000, based on demonstrated financial need, to help cover registration fees for summer enrichment opportunities. These programs do not need to be affiliated with IMSA.
Applications must be submitted by April 3. Priority will be given to students who have been waitlisted for SRELO, as well as students who are returning next year. Registration for the opportunities must be completed, and receipts must be submitted by June 15, 2026.

Lota Onwuameze and Omar Nijikam Take Little 10 by Storm
Two Titan basketball players earned Little 10 Conference recognition for their outstanding performances during the Titans’ historic season.
Congratulations to Lota Onwuameze ’27 on being selected to the Little 10 All-Conference Team for the second consecutive year. This honor is made even more impressive by a unanimous vote from conference coaches.
We also celebrate Omar Nijikam ’26, who was named a Little 10 Senior All-Star after an outstanding conference run. Averaging 14.1 points per game, Omar was a driving force on the team.
Congratulations to both players and the entire team on their record-setting season!

Jeev Hora '26 spent his last two summers working with researchers at Western Illinois University through IMSA’s SRELO Program, and his work has already made an impact in published scientific research. He recently co‑authored a paper published in the Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies studying ways to measure compounds found in recently legalized THC products.
The study developed a highly reliable method to test vaping oils, tinctures, and gummies for natural and synthetic cannabinoids, including compounds that became widespread due to regulatory gaps following the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill, which legalized hemp but left unclear rules for synthetic THC products. The researchers found that many commercial products were mislabeled or contained unexpected compounds. Jeev’s contribution to this industry helps improve public health and safety by giving regulators, manufacturers, and consumers better tools to know what’s really in these products.

Mu Alpha Theta Hosts 36th Annual Junior High Math Contest
IMSA’s Mu Alpha Theta (MAΘ) society hosted the 36th annual Junior High Math Contest (JHMC) last Wednesday, welcoming over 250 students in person and more than 100 online. To prepare, the MAΘ Board and Dr. Krouse invited competitors from across the country, wrote over 150 original math questions, and coordinated more than 50 IMSA student volunteers.
In addition to the contest, the board also spent the past year creating a competition math textbook, covering standard competition techniques, as well as the unique problems frequently seen at JHMC.
Thank you to the MAΘ Board and Dr. Krouse for their dedication to making math competitions and learning materials more accessible to students everywhere.

Medical Society Brings Careers in Medicine to Life
IMSA’s Medical Society has been busy gaining hands-on, real-world experience in the medical field this semester. The group recently toured Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora and met with a panel of physicians and hospital administrators to learn more about the journey to a career in medicine and what a day in the life of a doctor looks like.
The club also hosted a suturing workshop in IN2, giving members the chance to practice basic stitching techniques and develop practical skills used in clinical settings. Later this semester, Med Society students will present their year-long research projects completed under the guidance of medical professionals. Look for more details in next week's Titan Tuesday on that event!

| | | New Accommodations Webpage | | |
IMSA has launched a new, streamlined accommodations webpage that serves as the starting point for all academic, housing, and medical accommodation requests.
Students who are seeking accommodations for the 2026-2027 school year (including those who have received accommodations in the past) must complete the updated request process and submit current documentation (obtained within the last two years) of disability and/or medical need through the new system.
The updated website outlines:
- How to request accommodations
- Required documentation guidelines
- The review and interactive meeting process
- Information specific to academic, housing, and medical supports
Students who only require medication forms or an emergency action plan (and no additional accommodations) should continue working directly with Health Services.
IMSA reviews each request individually to ensure that approved supports are aligned with documented needs and the residential academic environment. Students and families are encouraged to begin the process early and to review the new website carefully before submitting materials.
For questions, please contact accommodations@imsa.edu.
