AP Exam Registration

This year, the CAC office will utilize online registration through Total Registration for the AP exams. Students are also required to enroll in their exams with College Board.  For Juniors and Seniors, 2026 AP exam registration information and instructions will be uploaded to your Naviance Student document library in the Shared Files folder by October 1, 2025. Sophomores can also pick up a hard copy of this information in the CAC office after this date.

Exam registration is open starting on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, October 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.  Registration is not complete until students have printed the PDF of the Total Registration confirmation page and have enrolled their exams with College Board. We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams. Therefore, we strongly recommend that both parents and students are present during registration to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

AP confirmation forms are due to the CAC office on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. This year, credit card payments will be invoiced through MySchoolBucks for your convenience, with the 4.9% processing fee invoice as a separate line item. You may also pay via personal check; however, checks must be received by October 20. All payments are due by Monday, October 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

To best help you with the process, we will be conducting a webinar this year entitled "Advanced Placement Exams" to help you understand the purpose and the logistics of the AP examinations. The webinar will occur on Thursday, October 8, at 5:00 p.m.

Asian Students in America (ASIA), one of IMSA’s four culture clubs, celebrates the heritage of Asian and Pacific Island countries through events like the Legends of Asia show, Night Market, and Mid-Autumn Scavenger Hunt. Our mission is to honor Asian cultures while addressing stigmas and important community issues.

Visiting with college admissions representatives when they come to campus gives students a valuable opportunity to explore a variety of schools. All sessions are open to juniors and seniors. Sophomores may attend any military school visit and any session that does not say “Seniors/Juniors ONLY.”

This fall break, Dr. Glazer will be leading college visits for interested students. These visits include admissions presentations, campus tours, and opportunities to connect with IMSA alumni who will share their unique perspectives on transitioning from IMSA to college life. IMSA’s Parent Book Club brings parents together to connect, reflect, and learn alongside others who understand the unique challenges and rewards of parenting an IMSA student.

This October, we’ll be reading The Anxious Generation by social psychologist Jonathan Haidt. Please join us via Zoom to discuss this book and help select the book for November 2025.

Girls Golf Team

The IMSA Girls Golf Team finished its historic first season with a victory over Lisle High School, finishing with a 4–2 record. The team went undefeated in conference play and earned a top-five finish at the Aurora Invitational.

The Titans were paced by Teah Oviedo Navarro '26, who turned in a season-best round of 49. Avery Frank '27 followed with a 58, while Maggie Federici '28 carded a 59. Alyssa Smith '27 closed strong to post a 68 and round out the scoring lineup.

Coach Brad Snead celebrated the milestone season, noting that the team “set the bar high for IMSA girls’ golf” and is eager to see what they can accomplish on the state stage.

The 2025 class of U.S. Presidential Scholars was recently announced, comprising 161 exceptional high school seniors selected for their achievements in academics, the arts, and career and technical education, as well as for their leadership and commitment to community service.

IMSA is especially proud that two members of our Class of 2025, Neev Patel (left) and Rachel Qi (right), have been recognized as Presidential Scholars Program Finalists. Each year, the program selects a highly limited number of students: two students from every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. families living abroad, plus 55 additional scholars in the arts, career and technical education, and at-large categories. Having two finalists from IMSA this year is an exciting testament to the extraordinary talent and dedication of our students.

IMSA is a great testing ground for new ideas, and in recent years, we've opened a Center for Artificial Intelligence, which serves as a conduit for seminars, guest speakers, mini-grants, and access to new opportunities. We also facilitate discussions around the ethical use of AI, the potential impact at IMSA, and how we might support students and educators at IMSA. Our desired outcomes for AI at IMSA are listed on our strategic dashboard.

While we have an interest in innovating, we have to be mindful of AI's limitations and impact. One reason many educators are concerned about the use of AI in classrooms is that students are purposefully shortcutting their learning opportunities. Instead, we want students to use resources to deepen their understanding, which is possible with AI by offering alternative perspectives on an issue or a different approach to solve a problem. In essence, AI can be both unhelpful and helpful. It's less about the technology and more about how it's adopted situationally. 

Due to the ethical complexity and value proposition of AI, the best approach a student can take is to ask their teacher if they can use an AI tool for their assignment, and also feel comfortable explaining how they used it. They should presume faculty will have different permissions because context and circumstance really matter. It is my hope that we will embrace new AI technologies in a manner that enhances cognition, creates opportunity, and also closes equity gaps, while also putting controls in place that will guide appropriate use.
