From the ALTA Advocacy Update: Want Informal Staff Guidance From the CFPB? There's a Form for That
ALTA - Last week, the CFPB released a  new online form for obtaining informal staff guidance. The form appears under the " Compliance and Guidance " page on the CFPB website.
According to the CFPB, you can expect a response to your question submitted by the form in 10 to 15 business days. Response times will vary based on volume and staff availability. It is unknown how this new form will interact with the bureau's current process, which allows questions via email at  CFPB_reginquiries@cfpb.gov and by phone at  (202) 435-7700.

Pennsylvania Superior Court Finds Ambiguity in Title Insurance Policy’s Description of the Insured Property Precludes Summary Judgment
Lexology - In an action arising out of a failed real estate transaction, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania vacated an order from the Court of Common Pleas denying appellant-insured’s motion for partial summary judgment and granting a cross-motion for summary judgment by appellee-title insurance company on appellant’s claims.

Texas Appellate Court Affirms Summary Judgment for Title Insurance Company on Equitable Subrogation Grounds
Lexology - The Court of Appeals of Texas recently affirmed a lower court’s decision granting summary judgment to a title insurance company, among others, holding that the insured lender’s deed of trust had been equitably subrogated to a first lien position and, accordingly, the insured had not suffered any damages as a result of an intervening lien.
