Sorry, We're Closed but Still Awesome

Library Closings

The Library will be closed on Monday, October 12th, for Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day. We will open again on Tuesday, October 13th.

The library will have a delayed opening on Friday, October 16th due to a morning staff meeting. We will open at 11:00am.

Just because we are closed, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy our StoryWalk®, outdoor tables and free wi-fi, and all the digital services we offer:

Flu Vaccine Clinic

Friday, October 9th, 12:00-2:00pm, Community Room

This public clinic is provided by Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice as part of its community wellness mission. The RI Department of Health purchases and distributes flu vaccine to providers, such as Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, to immunize RI residents or those with health insurance provided by RI companies. Visiting Nurse will take care of billing insurance.

Please keep in mind:

  • This clinic is for adults only – they do not vaccinate children.
  • Individuals must present their insurance card before their immunization so Visiting Nurse may bill each person’s insurance according to the qualifications noted above.
  • For those who are uninsured, the vaccination will be provided free of charge.

Fall is a great time to take advantage of the museum passes offered by Tiverton Public Library. Crisp, comfortable weather and outdoor activities go together!

Visit the Audubon Environmental Education Center open daily until October 18th and then, beginning October 19th, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The library pass allows for 2 adults and 4 children to visit for FREE.

Another pass offering FREE admission is the Buttonwood Park Zoo pass, providing free admission for up to 4 people.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo pass provides for $4.00 off each ticket, for up to 4 tickets.

Donate Your Seeds

As you enjoy your garden’s harvest, don’t forget to harvest those seeds! You can help us make native seeds free for all through the Grow RI Native Seeds (GRINS) program.

Sharing native seeds is easy! Seed collection kits are available at the Information Desk. Then, collect your seeds – snip off mature seed heads and put them in the paper bag provided in your kit. Be sure to fill the form out completely. Your personal information will not be shared. Finally, drop off your bag and completed form at the library. We will clean and package the seeds for sharing with others on your behalf. Your seeds could grow and create habitats in gardens across Rhode Island.

The library accepts other types of seeds as well. Non-native seeds will be added to our general seed cabinet near the gardening books.
