Elections Update
Tlingit & Haida's elections are underway! Electronic ballot information was mailed out on February 23 to all tribal citizens eligible to vote.

Elections are being conducted by electronic voting in the following communities:
Anchorage • Angoon • Craig • Haines • Hoonah • Hydaburg • Juneau • Kake • Kasaan • Ketchikan • Klawock • Klukwan • Metlakatla • Pelican • Petersburg • San Francisco • Saxman • Seattle • Sitka • Wrangell • Yakutat

How to Cast Your Ballot:
  • Go to Simply Voting Online Platform
  • Enter Your Elector ID & Password, then Click the Login Button
  • Select the Candidates You Wish to Vote For, then Click the Continue Button
  • Click the Confirm Button to Cast Your Vote. Your Voting is Complete!

Exercise your right to vote and make sure to cast your ballot by March 21, 2024!

If you have not received the ballot instructions by mail, it is possible Tlingit & Haida does not have a current mailing address on file in our Tribal Enrollment records. For questions on the elections, please contact your local election official or email elections@tlingitandhaida.gov.
Head Start Now Enrolling
Tlingit & Haida Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year! Head Start promotes school readiness and provides educational activities that support cognitive, social, and emotional development. It’s provided at no cost to enrolled families.
 
Who is Eligible?
Children between 3-5 years of age (must be 3 years old by September 1, 2024).

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation Scholarship
Are you a full-time or part-time student who resides outside of Alaska? Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive a scholarship through our Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation!

Scholarship Awards: $1,000 for full-time students / $500 for part-time students
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must permanently reside outside of Alaska.
  • Must be enrolled with Tlingit & Haida and originate from a Southeast Alaska community.
  • Must be enrolled in and attending an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a full-time or part-time student seeking an Associate degree or higher.
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (GPA).
  • Must be a United States citizen.

Cultural Ambassadors Recruitment for Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center
Do you have an interest in sharing our culture, traditional knowledge, language and history with visitors to Juneau?

Under a co-stewardship agreement with the U.S. Forest Service, Tlingit & Haida is looking to hire Cultural Ambassadors to work seasonally (MarchSeptember) at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in Juneau, Alaska.

Training will be provided and there is no experience necessary.

Tlingit & Haida’s Cultural Heritage Department is committed to developing and hosting regular cultural heritage classes throughout our communities to ensure the existence and perpetuation of our unique arts and cultural practices. Tlingit & Haida’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Department and Community & Behavioral Services (CBS) Healing Center have partnered to host an open house to encourage tribal citizens to start the new year off on the right foot by focusing on wellness.
