Time: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Location: 3.2 mile Fish Creek Road (Near Eaglecrest in Juneau)
Smoke Signals is stocked to make sure everyone is ready to ring in the New Year! Stop on up for roman candles, mortars, sparklers and much more!
Please remember the following:
- You must be 18 or older to make a purchase.
- Wear a mask and adhere to social distancing requirements at the site.
- All sales are in person (cash or credit/debit cards accepted).

Follow the City & Borough of Juneau's (CBJ) guidelines for fireworks use.
- Be safe, responsible and respectful to those around you.

Keep Lingít Aaní clean and dispose of your fireworks debris properly.

Nominations Open for Tribal Assembly Host & Hostess
|
Do you know a Tlingit or Haida Elder who is 70 years or older and deserves recognition for their contributions to our people and culture? Each year, Tlingit & Haida’s Executive Council selects a Tribal Host and Hostess to be the honored guests of the Tribal Assembly.
Nominations must include the following information:
- Biography
- Tribe/Clan/Moiety
- Accomplishments and Highlights
- Contact Information for Nominee (Mailing Address, Phone, & Email Address)

Emerging Leader Application Period Open
|
Tlingit & Haida is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 Emerging Leader position! This position was created to enhance the leadership skills of our tribal youth and will serve on Tlingit & Haida’s Executive Council for a one-year term. The position provides young adults with opportunities to acquire important knowledge about Tlingit & Haida, its governing and organizational structure, and valuable hands-on leadership experience.
Application Requirements:
- Must be enrolled with Tlingit & Haida.
- Must be 18 to 26 years old, unless graduated from high school at the time of election.

Must submit application by deadline of Friday, April 1, 2022 to tribalassembly@ccthita-nsn.gov.
Elections for Tlingit & Haida's Emerging Leader will take place during Tribal Assembly in April 2022.

Solicitation for Tribal Assembly Theme
|
Tlingit & Haida is searching for a theme for its upcoming 87th Annual Tribal Assembly and we are looking to our tribal citizens for help!
If you have a suggested theme, consider submitting it for a chance to win $250! Past themes have reflected sovereignty, our way of life, honoring our elders and children, empowering our youth, advancement, and collaboration. The Executive Council will review all entries and select the winning theme.

Virtual Scholarship Workshop

There are many financial assistance resources available to help tribal citizens pursue their higher education goals. Join Tlingit & Haida’s Scholarship Workshop to receive help with the scholarship and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application process, identify and apply for financial assistance, and receive writing assistance for cover letters and essays. Participants will be provided a variety of scholarship applications to complete during the workshop.
If you are looking to attend a college or vocational training program, register for the Scholarship Workshop today!
Note: To assist in the FAFSA application process, please have your or your parents' 2021 taxes.

Join us on Thursday January 13, 2022 on Facebook for a live Lunchtime Chat to discuss Tlingit & Haida's Governing Structure and Delegate Elections!
The Lunchtime Chats provide an opportunity for Tlingit & Haida to share information with tribal citizens on our recent and upcoming activities, programs and services. This week's Lunchtime Chat will be hosted by President Richard Chalyee Éesh Peterson and will include a Q&A period and close with a random door prize drawing.
If you follow Tlingit & Haida’s Facebook page, you'll receive a notice that Tlingit & Haida is holding a Facebook Live event as soon as we start. You can also just go to our Facebook page at noon and the live event will be at the top of our timeline.
If you are unable to join us online, each session will be recorded and posted to Tlingit & Haida’s YouTube channel.

Executive Council Meeting

Location: Live Via Zoom
Tlingit & Haida’s next Executive Council meeting will take place January 21, 2022. Time has been set aside for public testimony at 10:00 AM. Delegates, community council members, and tribal citizens are encouraged to attend. A draft of the agenda will be shared once it is made available.
