This project was a great example of how changing specific architectural elements made a big difference in the overall appearance of the home.
For the exterior, we created a proper entry to this beautiful home by adding a pitched roof with a half round ceiling above a new front door. We swapped out an oversized window above, to one that was much more in scale with the facade. Custom columns replaced thin round posts. The original yellow paint was upgraded to this beautiful blue-grey. Now this home is ready for company!
In the interior, we added custom panels to join the new feature window and new door in the foyer. Panels were also added to the walls in the adjoining dining room, to replace older wainscotting, and unify the spaces. To complete this sophisticated look, we added a knee wall on either side of the front door in the entry and in the dining room, to pull it all together and create a more intimate setting.
