NH Gives is Nearly Here!
Happy June! On June 8th and 9th, the NH Center for Nonprofits will hold it's annual NH Gives fundraising effort. This is a statewide, 24-hour online fundraising event designed to build community, connect donors to local nonprofits and generate excitement about supporting the nonprofit sector.
We're excited to be a NH Gives participant this year. We'll be eligible for matching contributions such that a donor's gift may be doubled. The NH Charitable Foundation has generously contributed $440,000 to match gifts received during the NH Gives campaign period.
This is NH's single largest day of giving, and it happens in one 24-hour period, from 5 pm to 5 pm on June 8 & 9. You can donate to West Central and other participating NH-based charities. Click Here to make a gift to West Central during that timeframe. Please mark your calendar. Thank you in advance!

An Eventful Success!
More than 30 people joined our in-person and virtual talk/event about art, art therapy, and mental illness held on May 15th at AVA Gallery & Art Center in Lebanon. We thank all the artists who contributed to the Tethered by Light art exhibition, the AVA staff who so graciously hosted us, and Julie Puttgen MFA, MA, CMHC of the Center for Integrative Health and our own West Central therapist Anna West MA, LCMHC (pictured top left with mask) for their insightful and educational comments. Click Here to enjoy a video of the gallery talk by Julie and Anna. (Note: You'll have to scroll down a bit to see it.)
Our sponsors for the talk and art exhibition (which shows through June 4th) include:
The Mt. Roeschmore Foundation

Community Health Needs Assessment Survey
We need your feedback!
Click Here to take this 10 minute survey and tell your local hospitals what would make your community a healthier place to live, work and play. It is important that they hear from lots of different voices. After you fill out the survey, you'll have the chance to enter a drawing for a $25 gift card. Thank you.
This survey is conducted in partnership with Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, New London Hospital, Valley Regional Hospital, Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice, and Visiting Nurse and Hospice of NH & VT.

Erin Barnett, PhD on Caring for Kids with Anxiety
Erin, one of our clinical psychologists who is also an assistant professor of psychology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth spoke with the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of VT/NH to offer caregivers some helpful advice including the three R's: Reassure, Relate, and Routine. Click Here to see Erin's YouTube video which covers much ground and offers thoughts on social media, how to transition a child to a different household, remote learning, helping teenagers identify their worries, and creating a culture of social-emotional growth.
This was another of our Mental Health Awareness Month collaborative efforts to help educate people to understand the importance of talking with others about mental illness and substance use without worry, fear, or shame.

Here at West Central...
We're on the move! As of June 1, our administrative office makes its way from many years on the Mall in Lebanon to join our colleagues at our Lebanon clinic at 85 Mechanic Street in the Rivermill complex. We're not moving far, but it's an exciting time to bring many colleagues together so we can all learn from one another. We're also continuing our efforts to get our staff fully vaccinated to help protect our clients and ourselves. And, we're gearing up to reconvene group therapy sessions.
We still require masks at all our locations.
|
|
We're hiring! Positions available include Mobile Crisis Response Clinicians, Peer Support Specialists, Team Leaders, Clinical Secretaries, Residential Specialists, Mental Health Therapists, Adult & Child Case Managers, and more. If you have an interest in helping others who truly need help, there's no more gratifying work than in community behavioral health. Please Click Here to visit our Careers web page.
On Vaccinations...
At this time, both NH and VT are vaccinating anyone 12 years of age or older regardless of residency. In NH, you can register for a COVID-19 vaccine at vaccines.nh.gov or by calling 2-1-1. And for VT, Click Here to learn more.
