Article: What NH Community Behavioral Health Looks Like

Do you know what happens at a behavioral health care clinic? New Hampshire is home to 10 community behavioral health centers each providing services designed to meet the needs of their region. Barriers to treatment: Is recovery within reach?

On Addiction: “Sobriety is touted as the ultimate goal for people who use drugs. Yet research shows that addiction is a recurring brain disease, and relapse is highly likely. Public health officials and community leaders urge people to seek treatment and highlight that recovery is within reach. Sleep on It

Sleep is important. We all know that, but many of us still spend our nights lying in bed with our eyes wide open and our minds racing. With daylight savings time ending in a month on November 7th, now is the time to work on your sleep habits to avoid the negative effects that often come along with the time change. While some of the "sleep rules" are easier to follow than others, this article shares some tricks of sleep hygiene to help you avoid sleepless nights.

West Central is excited to announce it has received an award of a FY2021 Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant in the amount of $125,000 by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. West Central will serve as fiscal agent and coalition member of the Youth CAN (Claremont and Newport) Coalition. Read the press release for more details.

We continue to reconvene group therapy sessions in our facilities with air purifiers and CO2 monitors to help with indoor air quality. As a reminder, masks are still required at all our locations. We continue to encourage our clients and others in the community to get vaccinated.

On Vaccinations...
At this time, both NH and VT are vaccinating anyone 12 years of age or older regardless of residency. The vaccine for children ages 5-11 is currently in the approval review stage with the FDA. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has made it easier for you to receive your COVID-19 vaccine. In a partnership with Convenient MD, the NH Mobile Vaccine Van is available to provide free vaccination clinics across the state at any location to groups of all sizes.
