May 2019 / Memorial Day
FROM CEO CHRIS ICE
Serving Those Who Have Served
At Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph, it is our honor to extend both the support and love of a family to service men and women .

WELCOME CENTER
When They Said “Welcome Center” They Meant It
A veteran’s wife details the struggles of her family transitioning to civilian life and how uprooting her family from the South to the Midwest was drastically impacted by a simple telephone call to Catholic Charities.
CHILDREN & FAMILY SERVICES
A Veteran’s First-Hand Account of Overcoming Domestic Violence
It’s rare to hear of a service member or a spouse being a victim of domestic violence, that is, unless a death has occurred. I’m one of the lucky ones. I’m a mom, a veteran and survivo r of do mestic violence.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Shoring Up the Communication Gap
Helping veterans overcome the communication gap between military and civilian life can lead to landing that dream job.
HOUSING SERVICES
Ending Veteran Homelessness
What is a Coordinated Entry System? And, how does it ensure veterans in the Kansas City-St. Joseph area don’t have to face homelessness?
OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT
Helping Veterans Fight New Battles
Would you consider sacrificing for those who have sacrificed? Keeping our veteran services programs strong enables us to help veterans pay utility bills and transition to well-paying civilian jobs.
JOYFUL NOISE
Strangers help Air Force veteran get off the street
Take a few minutes to feel the warmth of a community surrounding an Air Force veteran by providing shelter in the cold of winter.
CAREERS
Could your career stand a springtime fresh beginning?
If your career has you feeling as if the long, dark winter will never end, consider a refreshing change of course this spring. At Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph we’re always searching for workers seeking their own new season to rejoice and to blossom in God's work. This is the work we undertake every day at Catholic Charities. Won’t you come help us?
