TO TAX OR NOT TO TAX, THAT IS THE QUESTION
"The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission recently told those companies under its regulatory purview that it expects ratepayers to reap the benefits of federal tax cuts.

Whatever those benefits, they might not have time to get comfortable in people’s bank accounts before heading back out, in the form of higher prices courtesy of Gov. Jay Inslee’s carbon tax, which he’s resurrected now that his political party has control of both houses of the Legislature."

CHANGES COMING TO TACOMA'S WEST END
There is an increased interest in private development in Tacoma's west end , and the city finds itself in position to take advantage of this. Opportunities for increased density, mixed-use developments, and a focus on the pedestrian above the car, play a part in the city’s vision.
