The Gift of Warmth
Thanks to Coats for Kids, MVP, CDPHP and B. Lodge's
Each year, Whitney Young Health provides brand-new, warm winter coats to our patients in need through the Coats for Kids, a national program, administered locally through MVP Health Care.

This year, due to the pandemic, the demand for coats was more than double what it has been in previous years, and more than what Coats for Kids could provide. However, no one had to go without, because CDPHP stepped in to purchase the remaining jackets on the request list.

Our thanks go out to our friends at Coats for Kids, MVP Health Care, CDPHP and to B. Lodge & Co. department store in downtown Albany, where the coats provided by both MVP and CDPHP were purchased.

Winter weather prompts COVID testing changes
COVID testing recently moved to the Times Union Center in downtown Albany from its previous location at our Albany Health Center. The TU Center location offers a place to wait for tests indoors and away from the winter weather.
Drive-through testing is now being offered in front of our Watervliet Administrative Building (across the parking lot from the Watervliet Health Center) so people can be tested without leaving their cars. Walk-up testing remains available for anyone who does not have a car.
News stories about the changes in testing were recently featured on CBS 6 (WRGB) here and here, and on ABC affiliate Channel 10 (WTEN)

WYH's 3rd Annual Holiday Tree of Light
Employees give back while honoring and remembering loved ones
A tree-lighting ceremony was held at 4:30 pm on Thursday, December 10 in front of our Albany Health Center for our 3rd annual Holiday Tree of Light event.

In the weeks leading up to the event, staff can "purchase" a light on the tree in honor, celebration or memory of family, friends and co-workers, for $5 per light.

All funds go directly to help our patients and people we serve to pay for expenses that are not covered by insurance, such as co-pays and over-the-counter medicines.
