IN THE SPOTLIGHT
StriperFest "On the Water" Magazine
With the cold setting in, we can’t help but think of sunnier days when we were having a blast at On The Water Magazine's Annual StriperFest, held in September at Falmouth Harbor. We’re so thankful for all of the people who participated in the Raffle, Photo Booth, Corn-hole Toss and more! We had an awesome time with you all!
A special thank you to Chris Megan, Valerie Watts & Jennifer Hart for your incredible support and helping local Falmouth Families!

Wings Has Supported 8 families so far in 2019...
Since the beginning of this year, Wings for Falmouth Families have supported eight local families financially as they navigate a medical crisis or tragic event. Even as the holiday season is approaching, please know our Aid Committee is always accepting applications and meeting with families.
HEAR FROM A RECENT AID FAMILY:
“Four years ago I was diagnosed that my previous breast cancer had metastasized to my bones. I'm a single parent and found myself sleeping all the time, was in so much pain, chemo treatments were exhausting and made it impossible to work. I had little money coming in for my daughter and I to live on and had a hard time asking for help. Finally, desperate I looked up Wings for Falmouth Families and applied. Within 24 hours, someone called me back. I cannot express how kind this organization is. They just kept telling me not to worry. Thank God for this group and how giving they are."

Smitty's Ice Cream & National Ice Cream Day
Thank you Smitty's Ice Cream for your continued support and generosity towards our community and Wings' mission. This past summer, Hayden Augusta worked with Smitty to create her own ice cream flavor. After 3 different batches (with different flavored bacon), the final taste test was completed and the winner was chosen... MAPLE BACON WAFFLE! Smitty made a one-time batch that was unveiled on National Ice Cream Day! ALL of the proceeds from this ice cream flavor was donated back to WFFF! Thank you so much!
In Memory of Brian S. Clay
Brian Clay was a friend and supporter of Wings for Falmouth Families. You may recall Brian ran his 18 mile med-flight route in 2018 donating all proceeds to Wings for Falmouth Families. Brian passed away earlier this year but his love and compassion lives on in all those he touched. He will be greatly missed!
Old-Fashioned Family Carnival

In August, Wings held its first ever Family Carnival. Thanks to our sponsor Rockland Trust, this was a FREE event and open to the public for an afternoon of good old fashioned fun! From ring toss, to face painting, to balloon animals and tug of war, fun was had by all! Thank you to our vendors: Spin Cloud Cotton Candy , Sister Spin , Sprout Farm , ABB Rentals , Debbie Pettengill , John's Dogs , Perry's Ice Cream , Popcorn Man and all of our volunteers! Until next time!
A Family Effort
Wings is not only a community effort, but a family effort. Our board of directors work tirelessly on the mission that we hold for our organization; this also trickles into our homes. When the children that surround us take notice and want to be a part of something that is larger than all of us, it shinned through this year with pop-up lemonade stands that raised over $400 from these amazing kids!
Firefighter for a Day
This summer two brothers got the opportunity to be a Falmouth Firefighter for a day and it was amazing! Thank you so much to Deputy Fire Chief Scott Thrasher for making it such a memorable experience!
Falmouth Community Preparedness Event
Wings always looks forward to being a part of Falmouth's Community Preparedness & Fire Prevention Fair . This was held in September and is a wonderful free event for everyone...and did we mention Touch-A-Truck?! It was so nice speaking to so many of you!
Woods Hole Foundation Meeting
It was a fabulous evening at the Church of the Messiah for the Woods Hole Foundation Annual Meeting, September 26th. The WHF have supported so many organizations and causes over the years and we're so thankful for their amazing support and a beautiful evening to celebrate!

We send much love to the Waquoit Congregational Church and their continued support of Wings for Falmouth Families. WCC hosts their largest annual fundraiser, the Summer Bazaar, which is a loved, long-time tradition. Held in July, they donated their entry fees which will help local families in need. Thank you!
Falmouth Road Race
Thank you so much to everyone who ran for Team WINGS during the Falmouth Road Race this past August! It was a warm day but you all committed to running the 7 miles to help local families in need. We also appreciate the Falmouth Road Race who who puts on the race each year giving runners the ability to run for charities they're passionate about. Thank you to all who cheered on Team WINGS along the way!
