The Artistic Director's Corner

Dear all,

While Spring Show is afoot with Puck’s mischief on the horizon, this month I would like to celebrate our latest boys class at BalletNova!

We have all been working diligently on the ins and outs of classical ballet, and are having a blast each Wednesday along the way.

A special shout out to pre-professional division students Theodore, Teddy, Bert and Luke, who have made cameos along the way for our younger generation!

Sincerely,

Matthew Powell

Artistic Director

A Midsummer Night's Dream and Other Works

Board Liaison

Hi to all!

I want to thank those of you who have been contributing to the community conversation on the Padlet! Recently, a small group met to discuss ideas for building community within the studio as well as some ways to show appreciation to the BalletNova team.

Please be on the lookout for an email directly from me in the coming weeks so I can share some of our ideas with you! Don’t hesitate to be in touch with me by email!

Dance for PD

David Leventhal, credit: World Parkinson Coalition

On Monday, April 15, the Dance for PD® class held at BalletNova and sponsored by the Inova Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center welcomed David Leventhal, Dance for PD® Program Director and Founding Teacher.

David was in town for an annual teacher training weekend at the Kennedy Center and graced our studios to co-teach this class with regular instructor Lucy Bowen McCauley, certified Dance for PD® teaching artist. This ongoing, free community class is open to people with Parkinson’s as well as caregivers and partners. A huge thank you to David for sharing your wisdom, humor and creativity with class participants!
