2018 Municipal Awards Ceremony
The Town of Paradise Annual Municipal Awards were presented at a ceremony on April 18 during National Volunteer Week. In its 28th year, the awards recognize some of the Town's most outstanding residents, athletes, volunteers, and businesses.

Nominations were open to all residents, groups, and businesses within the Town with a total of eleven winners. The recipients of the 2018 awards were:
  • Junior Male Athlete of the Year (18 years and under) - Nicholas Quinn
  • Junior Female Athlete of the Year (18 years and under) - Lauren Mills
  • Male Athlete of the Year (19 years and older) - Erik Joy
  • Female Athlete of the Year (19 years and older) - Lindsay Hollahan
  • Coach of the Year - Raeleen Baggs
  • Youth of the Year - Erica Bennett
  • Volunteer of the Year - Jennifer Dooley
  • Volunteer Group of the Year - Paradise Running Club & 905 Viking Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron
  • Citizen of the Year - Tara Lynch
  • Business Excellence - BELFOR
  • Property Pride - Irving Oil
"Each year, we are continually impressed by the overwhelming response to the call for award nominations and I am pleased to say that 2018 has seen the highest number of nominations received," said Mayor Dan Bobbett. "The nominations received are a true testament to the incredible number of committed, talented, and hardworking residents and business owners throughout the Town of Paradise."

Municipal Plan
The Town of Paradise's new Municipal Plan is now in effect. Imagine Paradise is a comprehensive policy document which guides the management of the Town's growth and development over the next 10 years.
The Plan was developed after extensive public consultation and contains a long-term vision for Paradise with a focus on five key components including; healthy, livable neighbourhoods; quality, connected design; economic prosperity; environmental quality; investment in transportation and services; and regional cooperation.  For full details, please visit our website.
Public Information Session
The Town of Paradise is holding a public information session on the planned Topsail Road Roundabout and road upgrades to Clearview Heights. Engineering consultants, NF Power representatives and Town staff will provide an overview of the projects. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
Bulk Garbage/Metal Collection
It's bulk garbage/metal collection season! If you're looking to have your bulk garbage or metals picked up, the first collection dates of the season are as follows:
  • Bulk Garbage: Saturday, May 5
  • Metal: Saturday, May 12
