Strategic Plan Survey

Twitter Town Hall
Mayor Bobbett will hold a Twitter Town Hall on Thursday, July 18 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. as part of the consultations for the new Strategic Plan. He will be available to respond to your suggestions and answer your questions on the Paradise you envision and the strategic direction to guide the Town. Splash Pad Open For Summer
It's summertime in Paradise! Stay cool and have fun at the same time by checking out our Splash Pad at Paradise Park, open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all summer long. And when you're finished splashing around, there are plenty of other fun activities and amenities to enjoy, including a fully-accessible playground, volleyball courts, dog parks and plenty of open space for sports or simply soaking up some sun. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase at our Concession Stand, open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, depending on the weather. Summer Fitness Programs
If you're looking to keep up your fitness routine or start a brand new one this summer, there are still spaces left in our fitness classes! The Town offers a range of classes for all ages and fitness levels. Enjoy an intense workout? The High Intensity Interval Training Program might be just what you're looking for. If you'd rather something a little more laid back, we offer four different yoga classes to help you feel those blissful summer vibes. Or, if injecting bit of vigorous fun into your workout routine is what you need to shake things up, give our dance-themed POUND class or brand-new PIYO sessions a try. Registration for our 2019 is open now through the Town's Recreation Portal. Complete details, including program descriptions and class times, is available on our Recreation page.
Compost Bins Available
Composting is an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of organic household waste like eggshells, coffee grounds and vegetable peels. It's also a simple way to enrich your lawn or garden by restoring vitality to depleted soil through the conversion of waste into essential nutrients. Compost Bins are available for purchase at Town Hall during regular hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) for only $20. For more information on backyard composting visit mmsb.nl.ca.
Work on Adam's Pond Trail
The Adams Pond Trail will be completed this summer. Work is scheduled to begin the week of July 8, 2019. Work will take place Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the project is expected to be completed by the end of October. The existing trail will be open to users with barricades placed at the construction area. Residents are asked to follow all signage in the area and please avoid the construction area. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work.
Orangemen's Day Closure
Residents are advised that Paradise Town Hall will be closed on Monday, July 15, in observance of the Orangemen's Day Holiday. Paradise Double Ice Complex and the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre are open for regular programming, and there are no changes to the garbage and recycling schedule.
Youth Programs
School's out and summer's here - it's the perfect time for kids to get active. The Town offers a number of activities for youth, and there's still space remaining in two of our newest programs: Sprockids Biking and Summer Ball Hockey. Sprockids Biking is an 8 week program that teaches mountain bike riding skills, using a multi-tier approach designed to provide participants with the opportunity to experience success regardless of their riding skill level. Our Youth Ball Hockey program is comprised of three age groups and runs from July 8th to August 20th at the Lombardy Place Multi-Sport Courts in Elizabeth Park.
