Municipal Assessment Notices
The Municipal Assessment Agency (MAA) has issued the 2019 property assessments. Be sure to check your mailbox. A number of changes came into effect this year including issuing assessments annually in June; previously assessments were issued in October. Also, the appeal period has increased from 30 to 60 days. Any resident wanting to appeal a property assessment, must contact the MAA

MAA completes property assessments for the Town of Paradise. The Agency is a provincial crown agency that is arm's-length from all municipalities, including the Town of Paradise. All municipalities in the province, with the exception of the City of St. John's, use the services of the MAA; the Town is not involved in any way with the property assessment process.
Summer Youth Activities
We're offering Youth Programs throughout the summer. Check out the details on our webpage. This summer we've also added two new activities:   Sprockids Biking and Summer Ball Hockey.

Sprockids Biking is an 8 week program that teaches mountain bike riding skills. The program uses a multi-tier approach designed to provide participants with the opportunity to experience success regardless of their riding skill level. The art of riding is broken down into 55 skills distributed through four graduated levels, with each new skill building on a previous skill. Sprockids takes place Wednesday afternoons at Paradise Park and the surrounding trails.

The new Summer Ball Hockey program takes place every Monday and Tuesday evening from July 8 to August 20 at the Lombardy Place Multi-Sport Courts in Elizabeth Park. Start times are determined by age group.

Registration for both programs opens June 26 at 12 p.m. via the Town Recreation Portal. For more information, visit paradise.ca/youth.

June is Pride Month
In support, recognition and celebration of all LGBTQ2S+ people in our communities, Mayor Dan Bobbett proclaimed June as Pride Month in the Town of Paradise. Established to commemorate the anniversary of the New York City Stonewall Uprising in June 1969, which sparked the social movement for human rights of gay and lesbian people, Pride Month is a movement to protest discrimination and violence; to promote dignity, equal rights and self-affirmation; and a way of increasing awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQ2S+ community. As part of Pride Month, all Town picnic tables will be painted in the Pride colours to show support and raise awareness.
Discovery Day Closure

Paradise Town Hall will be closed on Monday, June 24, for the Discovery Day Holiday. The Paradise Double Ice Complex and the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre will operate on a normal schedule. There is no change to the garbage and recycling collection.
Happy Summer
Congratulations to all teachers and students on a successful 2018/19 school year! With the school year almost over, now it's time to enjoy summer. Because our children will be out playing in parks and playgrounds, we ask drivers to use extra caution and reduce speeds in order to keep summertime safe. Have a great summer everyone!
