Roundabout Road Work
Road work is set to begin on Monday, September 10 on a roundabout for Topsail Road and McNamara Drive. This work also includes road upgrades and sewer system work in the area. With a focus on updating one of the Town's main thoroughfares, this project will improve traffic flow on Topsail Road and contribute to the enhanced transportation system and road networks being built in Paradise.

Construction is scheduled to occur from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and every second Saturday and will continue through to the end of this year's construction season. During construction, efforts will be made to minimize impacts on traffic flow, especially during peak morning and evening traffic times.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused and asks that residents use caution in the area while work is completed. Look for regular updates on the construction project on our social media channels and on our website at Paradise.ca/Roads.
Youth Dance Program
Youth ages 7 - 9 and 10 - 14 are invited to join us each week this fall to participate in many styles of dance, including hip-hop, modern and more. This program focuses on teaching the basics and no experience is necessary. Our certified dance instructor will help youth build their skills leading up to a performance opportunity at the end of the season.

The Youth Dance Program is held at the Paradise Double Ice Complex and takes place each Sunday from September 16 to December 9, 2018 and costs is $15/person. Registration opens Monday, September 10 at 12 p.m. and is available online only until the program is full. Visit Paradise.ca/Youth for info on all of our youth programs and activities.
Garbage Collection Reminder
Residents are reminded that all wheeled garbage carts are to be placed to the end of your driveway or to the curb by 8 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. Garbage must be in the Town-supplied wheeled cart and recycling should be uncovered and placed outside your garbage container. There must also be at least one metre (3 feet) of space between your wheeled cart and any obstacles such as parked cars, poles, recycling bags, etc. For information, visit the website.
Back to School Safety
With the first week of school coming to a close the Town would like to remind residents to use caution and remain attentive while in our school areas and zones. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and slow down near schools and watch for students walking and playing in all surrounding areas. To assist with safety, the Town of Paradise Municipal Enforcement Officers and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are increasing patrols in all school zones for the back-to-school period.

The Town thanks residents for their cooperation in helping to keep our school areas safe. We wish all of our students, teachers, staff and administrators a great 2018/19 school year!
Terry Fox Run
In 1980 Terry Fox started his Marathon of Hope right here in our province. His goal was to raise money for Cancer research. He completed 3,339 miles of his journey before he had to end his marathon. For the past 37 years, communities across the country hold the Annual Terry Fox Run to keep his dream going.

Help support a great cause by getting your family, friends, or community group involved in the 2018 Paradise Terry Fox Run! The Town hosts the annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Registration will begin at the Paradise Double Ice Complex at 1 p.m. with the race starting at 2 p.m.

The run takes place around Octagon Pond and is followed by refreshments and prizes at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
