Greetings!
In starting C'ville Coffee, the Community Investment Collaborative (CIC), and C'ville Central my whole focus was entirely on our local community. Imagine my surprise when I received an invitation from the White House to be a part of President Obama's policy announcement on the Affordable Health Care Act on July 18th.
I want to thank Joe Szakos from Virginia Organizing and Airrion Andrews from Families USA for forwarding my name to the White House for consideration.
What I realized from this amazing experience was that no matter what our jobs or businesses, we are an integral part of the fabric of our nation. I was very proud to represent Charlottesville at the White House.
