Announcement from Stacy Turner,

Board Chair of Oklahomans for Equality

Over the last 15 years, Toby Jenkins, CEO/Executive Director, has been the face and, most importantly, the heart of Oklahomans for Equality (OkEq). He has fought tirelessly and passionately to protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ Oklahomans. He started as a volunteer over 25 years ago and worked his way to become the CEO/Executive Director. OkEq's programming and services have grown exponentially during Toby's tenure. We are a nationally recognized organization and called on locally to support and advocate for equity and justice in our community and state. We have expanded our reach to help create chapters across the state, providing a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth and adults to gather, organize and advocate. OkEq is stronger and seen as a valued community partner because of Toby's dedication to collaboration and networking with allies. Now is Toby's time to step away from OkEq and into an equally important and rewarding role with family and as Poppi to his grandchildren.

On July 1, 2022, Toby Jenkins will step down as the CEO/Executive Director of Oklahomans for Equality and the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center. Please help us celebrate this legendary man, his service, and all he has done for and with us! We wish Toby much love and happiness in his next chapter.

OkEq's mission will continue. We will fight for equal rights for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families through intersectional advocacy, education, programs, alliances, and the operation of the Dennis R. Nell Equality Center. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Toby Jenkins' 25 years of service to Oklahomans for Equality and the City of Tulsa, please click on the link below.
