To inspire you, today we are featuring a darling 3-D plushie by Creative Team member Jean Manis that is truly snuggle-worthy. Check it out!
A Note from Jean...

Today I’m sharing a wool felt owl plushie created with Taylored Expressions 100% Wool Felt and the Sack It Owl die. This is a great project for anyone who is a novice at sewing. The handmade look is very forgiving and the felt is easy to work with.

Begin by die-cutting the owl body from  Split Pea Felt with the  Sack It To You die.

Hint: To save your Felt, rough-trim it down to close to the size of the die you are working with.

Run the die through your die-cutting machine twice (for the front and back of the owl). Die-cut the beak ( Carrot  F elt), two eye lashes ( Black Licorice Felt), two wings ( Latte  F elt), eye area ( Marshmallow  F elt) and belly ( Robin’s Egg Felt) from the  Sack It - Owl die.
Trim off any excess felt with scissors.
With Felt Glue, adhere the eyelashes on to the eye background. (Hint: Use the beak as a guide for placement).
With two strands of coordinating embroidery floss in a sharp-nose embroidery needle, attach the owl’s belly to the body front with a straight stitch. (Hint: use straight pins to hold the belly on to the front as you sew.)

Continue stitching on the eyes and the beak. For the wings, do not stitch the sides, as those will be stitched during the final assembly. Before stitching, add a little bit of glue to the center of those pieces and adhere them to the owl body to hold them in place. (Hint: Use straight pins instead of glue for the belly, as you do not want to be stitching through glue.)

Add decorative stitching to the owl’s belly with contrasting thread: Place straight pins in the belly to help with stitch placement. Remove each pin after each stitch. (For more advanced sewers, use a chalk pencil to make marks for the stitches, rather than straight pins.)

Use blanket stitching to attach the back piece to the front.
When the sides and bottom are stitched, add polyester fiberfill and blanket stitch the owl closed.
