Pregame concert, WKU Football tonight

It’s gameday on the Hill! A free pregame concert by award-winning entertainer Flo Rida will begin at 5 p.m. on South Lawn, followed by WKU Football vs. Kennesaw State at 6:30 in a Black Out at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Here are some event reminders for the campus community:

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., WKU is asking offices to operate with minimal staff and encourage employees choosing to leave campus to do so quickly. This will help with parking and traffic as the campus transitions to event operations in support of the game. Those choosing to leave will not be charged vacation time. Classes will continue as scheduled.

As a reminder, all faculty and staff receive two free game tickets, two complimentary drinks (bottled water or soda) and two free food items (hotdog or popcorn) for this game. You can pick up your tickets and concession coupons at the Diddle Arena ticket office until 3:30 p.m.

Lower South Lawn will open at 2:30 p.m. for the concert festivities, and space is available on a first-come basis. Pop-up tents for tailgating will be permitted on the perimeter of Lower South Lawn; space in the middle will be reserved and left open for those enjoying the concert. (Read Provost Fischer's message to campus)

Topper Walk begins at 4:10 p.m. at Parking Structure 1 as the Hilltoppers, Big Red Marching Band and WKU spirit groups make their way along Avenue of Champions to the stadium. Check out the Football Parking and Tailgating Map for tailgating locations, shuttle service, disability parking, reserved parking, and road closing information.
