Today marks the anniversary of the death of Local 947 member, FF Jesse Gray.

FF Gray was killed on New Year’s Eve 1969 after stepping off the tailboard of his engine to connect to a hydrant. Tragically, the engine began backing up and struck Gray, killing him.

After research by Local 947 President Emeritus Richard O'Brien, Gray was confirmed as an official LODD by the IAFF. In 2015, Gray was added to the IAFF's Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Wall. You can read more about FF Gray being added to the Wall at this link.
