The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is reminding residents that TODAY Monday, September 26, 2022, marks the 79th Anniversary of the founding of Happy Valley.
On September 26, 1943, John Broomfield, Gilbert Saunders, and Thorwald Perrault, along with their respective families, settled at what they initially called “Refugee Cove” and in 1955 the name was changed to Happy Valley.
On this upcoming weekend on Sunday, October 2nd there will be a celebration of Happy Valley Day at the Kinsmen Park from 1 pm to 4:30 pm featuring live music, hot chocolate, and pie. Not just "pie" but also a "Pie Making Contest" to select the best pie makers in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Stay tuned for more details.
Have a wonderful Happy Valley Day!
