Los Angeles, February 22, 2022 – It’s World Spay Day so help LA Animal Services spread the word about the importance of getting your pets fixed and the spay and neuter resources we have available online, including free or low cost spay/neuter vouchers that are ready to use!
There are many benefits to getting your pets spayed or neutered that include:
- Preventing unwanted pets from being born, making it the most effective way to reduce pet overpopulation
- Lowering the chances of your pet roaming, so they’re less likely to escape your home or yard
- Curbing aggressive behaviors like fighting or biting, and
- Reducing the risk of certain cancers for our animal companions.
LA Animal Services makes it easy and convenient for Angelenos to ensure their furry family members get spayed or neutered. By simply going online at laspayneuter.com, residents of Los Angeles can complete the application and their free or low cost spay/neuter vouchers will be emailed directly to their inbox.
“By spaying and neutering your pet, you are helping to prevent unwanted pet births; decreasing the risk of cancers that can be fatal for our furry friends; and reducing the number of stray pets who end up in our City shelters,” said Dana Brown, General Manager for LA Animal Services.
The free Spay & Neuter Certificates/Vouchers and discount Spay & Neuter Coupons are available online or at any of our six LA Animal Services Centers. Each household is eligible for discounts for up to three dogs and three cats per household. Free roaming cats and stray dogs do not qualify for this program. Spay/neuter vouchers may be used at participating veterinary hospitals, spay/neuter clinics and mobile spay/neuter clinics.
