Always maintaining a proper balance between proclamation of the word about life with the deeds which make life good.

Welcome and Announcements

Shared by the Black Family

Opening Words

Led by Michelle Black

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called to

create a world where every person is radically affirmed and barriers between people become bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Please stand in mind, body, or spirit

Led by Alex and Drew Black

One: People wander around aimless in the wilderness of the world.

All: All of us are looking for shelter, safety, companionship and nurturing.

One: People see a faint light blinking through the trees and they move toward that light.

All: As we move closer we begin to hear voices.

One: People cannot quite make out the whole message but they overhear words like inclusion, equality, peace, justice, faith, hope, and love.

All: The light is getting brighter as we get closer.

One: When people finally break through the tree line they

stumble into a single clearing with multiple campfires.

Human beings name these fires to indicate where they are

on their journey.

All: But the whole sanctuary in the wilderness is called

Shadow Rock!

Singing Our Welcome We are the Family

Please stand in mind, body, or spirit

Shared by Clayton Freed

We are the family and we are the home,

We are the mountain where love can be known.

We are the voices and we are the hands

For bringing peace to our land. (Repeat)

1. And in our family all are welcome,

doesn’t matter who you are,

In our home there’s always room, so plan to stay.

On our mountain where we labor

There’s much work that’s left to do,

And your talents would be helpful if you stay.

Chorus

2. And in our family ev’ry nation, ev’ry planet, ev’ry race,

Ev’ryone is always welcome to our home.

And with our voices let us tell you

That we mean just what we say,

And with our hands united, let us pray. Chorus

Centering Prayer

Shared by Rev. Dr. David Hodgson

Divine Mystery, we gather in a spirit of radical inclusion, recognizing that your truth is wider than any single tradition. We celebrate the beautiful tapestry of human conviction represented here today. Grant us the grace to honor one another across our diverse landscapes of belief. For those who find you through sacred texts, rituals, and prayer, deepen their faith and connection. For those who seek you through other spiritual paths, philosophies, or the quiet whispers of creation, bless their journey. Our humanist siblings commitment to truth, justice, reason, and human flourishing enhances each of our journeys. Remind us that compassion is our common language, and love is our benchmark. May we listen deeply, value curiosity over certainty, and respect the integrity of every individual's conscience. Together, side by side, let us work to heal the world, comfort the brokenhearted, and build a community rooted in justice and peace.

Amen.

Invitation to Give

Led by Drew Black

One: Not because we have to, but because we are grateful, let us give generously. Embraced by the Divine Mystery, we

find peace; in giving love we find love.

All: Let us joyfully offer our time, our treasure, our

commitment, and our presence to the sacred work of

healing, justice, and compassion in our community and our world.

In our offerings, we share not only measurable treasures of time, talents, and resources, we radically commit ourselves to sharing immeasurable gifts of forgiveness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and loving concern with each other and with ourselves.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

Dedication of Our Offerings

Shared by Alex Black

Gracious and Holy Mystery, we thank you for the gift of life and the joy found in sharing our abundance. May these gifts be transformed into works of creative compassion. May they turn despair into hope, hunger into nourishment, and isolation into welcome.

Singing Our Faith There is Room For All

Please stand in mind, body, or spirit

Shared by Clayton Freed

There is room for all in the shadow of God’s wing

There is room for all sheltered in God’s love

And I rejoice and sing,

“My refuge and my rock in whom I trust.”

There is room for all, there is room for all.

See... the shadow of a mighty rock in a thirsty land.

(Jeremiah 32:2)

Words for Mission

Led by Rev. Dr. David Hodgson

One: Time has now come for us to leave this sacred place.

All: As we do, may we embrace the challenges of our lives and our world...

One: May our bonds of friendship and love never fade, but

endure through all time.

All: May they echo in our lives, in our words, in our deeds, in our moods, and in our dreams.

One: Carry the spirit of this place and these people with you

wherever you may go. Be a blessing in your going out and

your coming in. These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Sending Forth Song Circle of Friends

Shared by Clayton Freed

Come and sit together in a circle of friends

Be at home, be at peace, be at rest.

Come and sit together in a circle of friends,

Sitting in a circle is best.

Laugh (echo), cry (echo),

Live (echo), die (echo),

Hello (echo), goodbye (echo),

And God make us a circle of friends.

People in the wilderness feel lost and walk alone.

Come to us, hear the Word, be at rest.

Three fires in the clearing,

and the voices you are hearing

Is the singing of a circle of friends.

Chorus

Embracing with our hearts and minds is power to renew;

Change our ways, embrace time, embrace rest.

Will you let the Sabbath do some kind of work in you?

Keeping Sabbath with friends is best.

Chorus
